I'm not a huge fan of the Dibels assessment tool but, like it or not, that's what our district uses. We had benchmark testing last week. Since my kiddos last year appeared to have a weakness in their reading fluency, I have focused more on that this year. Now the fluency is much better but retell/comprehension is lower! Uggghhh!! Now I'm trying to find some ideas to help them improve in this area. I made these cards to use in small groups and reading stations. Click here for a copy. I'd love to hear comprehension strategies you use in your classroom.
On a more positive note, I am excited to have almost 50 followers! I have had so much fun blogging the last few weeks! I have loved reading other blogs and getting some new ideas. All the sweet comments everyone leaves provide so much encouragement! To celebrate, I am having my first giveaway!
